Our Story
How WUT Began:
A Journey of Love
From our Founder Victoria Dean - On Sunday, October 23, 2011 my family's life changed forever. It was going to be a regular Sunday in Williamsburg, Va. It was cool, the sun was out, we were planning on going to Bush Gardens. When I got up my oldest son wasn't in the house. I walked out on the porch and he was standing by the mailbox. To this day I couldn't tell you what he was wearing besides this look on his face, the last look he ever gave me. Taylor James Dean took his life that morning and it's a day that is forever burned into my soul. I'm, we, are not the same people today as we were before that moment. We didn't just bury our son, our brother, but an innocent piece of us went with him.
Guilt, regret, pain do not even begin to break the surface of this feeling of grief. To say it didn't overtake our family is understatement. However, together every year since on October 23rd we take a moment to reflect on his life and all that could have been.
The first year we were unable as a family to go together to Indio Ca. where he is buried. So, instead we bought dozens of flowers and took them to our local cemeteries and placed a single flower on graves of those we do not know - in honor of him. Now, years later it's become somewhat of a tradition in our home.
If Taylor would have waited one more day it might have changed everything for him. Waiting until tomorrow can be the hardest thing for some of us - to ride this roller coaster of life and see it though.
So, we are asking you take a moment out of your day to reflect. To embrace the only truth- You can make it, your worth it, and in the end the only thing that matters are our memories.
So, take a flower and give it to someone, anyone, anywhere, for only one reason-
They are doing it and Waiting for Tomorrow.
After your experience, let us know how it went. A little hope and beauty can change your perception and that could change the world, if only for one person.
